Black History Month: A Black Poet, Painter, and Musician

I’d like to share a favorite black poet, black painter, and black musician of mine. I don’t need to make a long introduction; their art speaks.

“Everything Will Be Alright” (Joy Labinjo)

I first read the author, Cornelius Eady in my first poetry writing class at Brooklyn College.

Here’s a poem of his I love:

A Small Moment (Cornelius Eady)

I love this fun song by a woman that uplifts a woman with kind imagery:

Walking Trophy (HoodCelebrityy)

By Jade Nicole Beals

I'm Jade, a poet, painter, and yoga teacher. I live in southeastern Massachusetts and am from Brooklyn, New York. Besides art and yoga, I love nature, spirituality, music, tea, and a good party.
