Edna St. Vincent Millay in her private library upstairs at Steepletop, c. 1935
I didn’t even realize I could do that, until now!
It was so incredible to suddenly hear Edna St. Vincent Millay reading her words aloud, a poet I’ve read and written of often, and I don’t even remember how I got to it…
I’ve read Edna’s poems and others on my playlist (blog top page, menu link – youtube audio poetry), including this one, ”Recuerdo,” and now I hear her read it herself.
I wonder if her accent is an older time New England accent as she was born in Maine, Feb. 22nd, 1892 and I don’t think I know this accent myself.
Edna reading her poem, “Recuerdo”…
