(this photo is from last year around this time; ‘my poetry cat’ Peeko was very pleased with this book.)
Like poet Christina Rossetti, I found poet Keith Waldrop’s latest poetry book, Transcendental Studies: A Trilogy last year just discovered by me on the poetry shelf at the Foxboro Library; I was delighted to find out that Waldrop is a Rhode Island poet and therefore nearby, although I couldn’t locate a way to contact him.
The simple, continuous poems stayed with me, bringing out the best of postmodern poetry with often fantasy genre elements…the kind of poetry that can excite a person like, ‘A poem can be written like that? That is so much more fun than I thought; let me write one!’ Happy 90th Birthday (belated by a day), Keith Waldrop, December 11!!
