The dark  
does not hide 
what I would  
like to see
A still star is still prettier
than a shooting star, 
despite the rarities in science.  
Fireworks
in the sky 
as a display 
are not a thing 
I’ve sought out after,
but there is all  
the vibrancy  
in the world  
within a single soul like you.  

Your winter coat is perfect 
as is your smile back;
Looking through the lens of you
I wanted to make the most of you.
